This is a very old scene I drew 11 years ago. Some of the 'tricks' I used to make things look very realistic are done in a different manner in which you might think.
For instance. the deck of cards looks used. The edges of the "polygons" were selected. One light is grey - that light is only seen by the polygons on the selected decks of cards. Nothing else in the entire scene can 'see" that grey light with "dirt" on it. IN fact: there a dozen lights in this scene carefully placed to provide the proper illumination.
